TRAILING BRAKE SHOE C/W LINING
Trailing brake shoe with lining, part 37-1407 (also W1407), for drum brake wheel assemblies.
This is the trailing brake shoe, complete with lining, part number 37-1407, and it shows up under the older W1407 designation as well. It's a drum brake shoe, one half of the shoe pair that lives inside the brake drum on the wheel it's fitted to. The catalog shows it appearing across both front and rear wheel figures, including the quickly-detachable rear wheel setup, so it's worth checking which figure matches your wheel before you order.

As the trailing shoe, it sits on the side of the brake plate that trails the direction of drum rotation rather than leading into it, and it works opposite the leading shoe to bring the drum to a stop when the brake lever or pedal is pulled. It comes with the lining already riveted or bonded on, so it's ready to install once you've checked drum condition and shoe return spring tension.
The catalog record spans a long run of years and a lot of different wheel figures, which tells us this shoe was used widely across drum-brake wheel setups, but it doesn't pin down an exact model or year for your particular bike. Give us a call with your wheel type and we'll confirm fitment before you order.
