Hub and brake drum

Front wheel hub with integral brake drum for Triumph drum-braked front ends, catalog number 37-1231 (formerly W1231).

PN · 37-1231

This is the front wheel hub with its integral brake drum, listed in the catalog under 37-1231 (the earlier form of this part number was stamped W1231). It's the front hub casting that the spokes lace into and that the brake shoes work against when the front brake lever is pulled - one piece doing both jobs on these drum-braked front wheels.

The catalog places this hub in the FRONT WHEEL figures, including a listing specific to the 6T. It shows up across catalog entries running from 1960 through 1968, so it's a part Triumph carried for a good stretch of that front-drum-brake era before discs came along.

If you're replacing one of these, check your existing hub against the spoke pattern and brake shoe fit before ordering, since front hub castings changed over the years and we want to get you the right one the first time.
