Retaining ring
Left-hand-thread retaining ring that locks the front wheel bearing into the full-width front hub.
This is the retaining ring that locks the front wheel bearing in place inside the full-width front hub. It sits down in the hub bore, threading against an abutment ring to keep the bearing seated and to hold grease where it belongs. The catalog record shows it across a long run of front wheel figures, from the earlier hub type through the later full-width hub used on 6T, T110, TR6, T120, and the T100 family variants, so the shape and function stayed consistent even as hub details changed year to year.

You'll also see this part under the old letter-prefix number W582, along with 97-0404A and H404A — same physical ring, different number depending on which parts book or supplier list you're working from. Note it carries a left-hand thread, which is worth keeping in mind if you're pulling a hub apart and things don't seem to be coming loose the way you'd expect.
Given how many different front wheel figures this shows up in, it's worth double-checking your hub type against the figure title before you order — earlier and later hub styles are listed separately in the books for a reason.
