FORK OIL SEAL SET TRI/BSA 1971-82 - PIONEER WESTON UK

A pair of early-style fork oil seals for 1971-and-later Triumph and BSA forks.

PN · 97-4001E
Also available from 4 sources:

This is a fork oil seal set covering the early style seal used on Triumph and BSA forks from 1971 onward. The set holds two seals, one for each fork leg, and keeps fork oil inside the slider where it belongs instead of weeping down onto your fork tubes and brake components. The alias 97-4001 is the same part without the letter suffix, so if your parts book lists either number you're looking at the same physical item.

Fork oil seals are a wear item — they harden and start seeping with age even if the fork internals themselves are fine. If you're seeing oil on the lower legs or a film on the fork tubes above the sliders, this is usually the first thing to check.

The catalog description covers the 1971-on Triumph and BSA range broadly. Because fork seal sizes can differ across models and across seal design changes within that span, it's worth confirming against your parts book or having the shop check before ordering.
