FORK DRAIN PLUG WASHER - 3/16 ALLOY
Alloy drain plug washer that seals the front fork leg drain plug when draining or refilling fork oil.
This is the alloy drain plug washer for the front fork legs, part number 97-3893, also seen in older books as H3893. It's a small sealing washer that sits under the drain plug at the bottom of each fork leg, and its job is straightforward: keep the fork oil in when the plug is tightened down and let it seal cleanly when the plug comes back out for an oil change.

Catalog appearances put this washer in fork leg service across a wide span of years, so it's worth keeping a couple on hand whenever you're draining and refilling the front end. Alloy washers like this one don't hold their seal forever after repeated removal, so a fresh one at every fork oil change is cheap insurance against a leaky drain plug - actually, just good practice to avoid oil creeping past a tired old washer.
If your parts book lists this under H3893 instead of 97-3893, it's the same physical washer - the numbering just reflects an older edition of the book.
