Gearbox Outer Cover

The outer cover for the gearbox, bolting over the gear change mechanism on the right side of the case.

PN · 57-3760

This is the outer gearbox cover, the plate that closes off the right-hand side of the transmission and carries the gear change mechanism where it exits the case. In the catalogs it shows up under the older T3760 designation as well as the current 57-3760 number, both pointing at the same physical piece.

It bolts to the outer face of the gearbox shell and gives you access to the selector and change mechanism without splitting the case open, so it is the part you pull if you are working on the gear change linkage or just need to get in and have a look. Catalog listings for this cover run from 1970 to 1974, which lines up with the outer-cover shape used on the gearboxes of that period.

If you are ordering one, check the shape and stud pattern against what is on the bike now, since gearbox covers changed a few times over the years and the catalog only confirms this one for the early-70s window.
