This is a rubber O-ring used on the gearbox outer cover, showing up in catalog listings for the gearchange and kickstart crank area as well as crankcase figures. It's a simple seal, but it's doing real work keeping oil where it belongs around the shift shaft and cover fittings on the gearbox.
