STANCHION c/w BEARING
Front fork stanchion with bearing, from the 6T and 3TA/5TA telescopic fork assemblies, later superseded by 97-1889.
This is a fork stanchion supplied with its bearing, the sliding tube that makes up the top half of the telescopic front fork assembly. It appears in the parts book under the 6T front fork figure as well as the 3TA and 5TA front fork figure, so it covers the front end hardware for those unit-construction twins as shown in Triumph's own catalog. The stanchion is the fixed leg that the fork sliders ride on, carrying the bearing that lets the fork move up and down over bumps.

The older reference for this part is H1890, which is the pre-numeric parts-book form of 97-1890. If you're working from an older book or a fork set with parts tagged the old way, that's the same physical piece.
Triumph later superseded this part with 97-1889. If you're sourcing a replacement and 97-1890 isn't turning up, ask about 97-1889 as the current factory number for the same stanchion. Given the catalog only ties this to the 6T, 3TA, and 5TA fork figures, confirm against your own fork set before ordering, since fork stanchions are specific to the fork design they came out of.
