THREADED LOCATING PIN STEERING DAMPER (67-3117)

Threaded locating pin for the steering damper assembly on early telescopic front forks.

PN · 97-1286

This is the threaded locating pin for the steering damper on early telescopic front forks, part number 97-1286, also known by the older H1286 designation and cross-referenced to 67-3117. It shows up in the parts books alongside the front fork assembly and the nacelle headlamp and switches section, which tells you it lives up top on the steering head area where the damper mechanism seats.

The steering damper on these bikes lets the rider add friction to the steering to settle the front end at speed or on rough roads, and this pin is the small threaded piece that locates the damper assembly in position on the fork/steering head. It is a simple part but an important one to have seated correctly for the damper to function as intended.

Our catalog listings for this pin span the mid-1960s across the 6T and TR6/T120 fork setups. If you are chasing this down for a specific bike, check your parts book against the 67-3117 or H1286 numbers as well, since all three point to the same piece.
