Plain washer
A plain washer used to retain the oil seal down in the front fork leg, PN 97-0431 (aka H431).
This is a plain washer that lives down in the front fork legs, part of the oil seal setup at the bottom of the telescopic fork. Triumph's parts books list it as 97-0431, with the earlier alias H431 and 9998-398 turning up in older references for the same piece. It shows up across a long run of fork figures, from the 6T and pre-unit twins through TR6, T120, T90, and T100 variants, so it's one of those small parts that stuck around basically unchanged for a long stretch of production.

Functionally it's a retaining washer that helps hold the oil seal in place at the bottom of the fork leg, keeping fork oil where it belongs and keeping road grit from working its way up past the seal. Because it's used down at the seal, it usually gets replaced in pairs when someone's doing seals or a full fork rebuild rather than swapped on its own.
Given how many fork figures this washer appears in, don't assume every listing is identical hardware just because the description matches — check your own parts book figure before ordering to make sure this is the washer your fork calls for.
