Throttle valve
Amal throttle valve (slide) 928/060, used in Amal carburetor assemblies on several Triumph twins from the late '60s into the mid '70s.
928/060 is the throttle valve, more commonly called the slide, for the Amal carburetor fitted on a run of Triumph twins through the late '60s and into the mid '70s. It's the piece that rides up and down inside the carb body when you roll the throttle, controlling how much air/fuel mixture gets through as you open and close the twist grip. This part shows up across the Amal carburetor figures for the TR6R, TR6C, T120R, TR7RV, and T140V listings in our catalog, so it's a common wear item across those carb families.

Over time the slide and the carb body it rides in wear together, and a sloppy fit here is a common cause of throttle slop, poor idle, or an engine that won't hold a steady low speed. The catalog shows this part was later issued as 928/060A, which is the same physical slide under the updated factory number - if your parts book lists 928/060 or you're chasing a replacement under 928/060A, you're looking at the same component.
Because slides are matched to the bore of a specific carb body, it's worth checking your carburetor identification before ordering rather than going by numbers alone. Give the shop a call if you're not sure which one your bike is running.
