THROTTLE NEEDLE CONCENTRC MK1 600/900 - 2 Rings above notches (U1 needle)
Amal Concentric Mk1 throttle needle (U1), two rings above the notches, for 600/900 series carburetor bodies.
This is the Amal throttle needle for the Concentric Mk1 carburetor, listed in the parts books as fitting the 600 and 900 series bodies. It's marked with two rings above the notches for identification, and shows up in Amal's own records as the U1 needle. Our records show it superseding an older Amal part number, 99-1036, if you're working from an earlier book or an older parts listing.

The needle sits inside the carburetor's slide and works with the throttle cutaway to meter fuel as you open the throttle, moving up and down inside the needle jet as the slide rises. It shows up across a wide spread of catalog entries for unit-construction twins with Amal Concentric carbs, including Bonneville, TR6, T100, and T140 applications from the early-to-mid 1970s according to our figures.
If you're rebuilding a Concentric carb and the old needle is worn, bent, or you're not sure which needle profile is in there, this is worth checking against your parts book by the two-ring marking rather than guessing. Give us a call if you want to confirm which needle your carb calls for before ordering.
