Swinging Arm

The rear swinging arm (swinging fork) that carries the rear wheel and suspension units on oil-in-frame Triumph twins.

PN · 83-2513

This is the swinging arm (also called the swinging fork) for the rear suspension on the oil-in-frame Triumph twins. It's the pivoted fork that carries the rear wheel and lets it travel up and down, with the rear suspension units mounted at its trailing end. The pivot bushes at the front let the whole assembly rock on the frame.

Our catalog carries this under 83-2513, with F12513 as the earlier legacy number for the same part. It shows up in the parts books under the SWINGING FORK AND SUSPENSION UNITS heading, tied to the oil-in-frame chassis that Triumph ran through the early-to-mid '70s.

If you're replacing one, check the condition of your pivot bushes and spindle while you're in there — a tired swinging arm assembly usually means worn bushings as much as a worn arm. Give us a call if you want help confirming which arm goes with your frame.
