Pivot bolt - swinging arm

The swinging arm pivot bolt for oil-in-frame Triumph and BSA twins, running through the rear suspension pivot.

PN · 21-2087

This is the swinging arm pivot bolt for oil-in-frame Triumph and BSA twins, the long through-bolt that runs the length of the swinging arm pivot and lets the rear suspension articulate. It shows up in the parts book under the SWINGING ARM AND SUSPENSION UNITS figure, and you may also see it listed under its earlier form, S2087 - same physical bolt, different catalog numbering.

Because it carries the full load of the rear suspension pivot, this is a bolt worth inspecting whenever the swinging arm bushes are serviced. Wear at the pivot often shows up as play in the bolt or its bushings rather than the bolt itself failing, but a bolt that's been in there for decades is cheap insurance against a stuck or seized pivot down the road when you're already in there.

Our catalog record spans appearances from 1971 into the mid-1980s across oil-in-frame models. Confirm against your own parts book before ordering, since swinging arm hardware changed across the OIF run.
