Primary chaincase cover for the left side of the engine, later superseded by 71-7465.

This is the primary chaincase, the outer cover that encloses the primary chain, clutch, and alternator on the left side of the engine. It's what keeps oil in and road grime out on the drive side of the motor. Our catalog shows it appearing in the CHAINCASE AND CHAINS section across catalog years 1976-1980.
