Cover plate
Cover plate for the primary chaincase inspection door, behind the clutch sprocket.
This is the cover plate that sits on the inner primary chaincase, behind where the clutch and sprocket assembly lives — what folks in the shop sometimes call the trap door or inspection door backing plate. It bolts over the opening that gives you access to the clutch sprocket without pulling the whole primary cover.

The older parts book number for this one is E7037, so if you're working from an early catalog and see that stamped on a diagram, it's the same physical part as 70-7037. It shows up across chaincase and chains figures spanning several years of production, which tells you it had a long run before anything changed.
When you're replacing this plate, it's worth checking the gasket and oil seal that go with it at the same time, since all three work together to keep the primary chaincase sealed up. Call the shop if you're not sure which gasket pairs with your case.
