Oil seal
Oil seal for the primary sprocket cover, keeps oil from weeping past the cover into the chaincase.
This is an oil seal that lives in the chaincase area, specifically at the sprocket cover on the primary side. It keeps oil in the primary chaincase from leaking out around the gearbox mainshaft or sprocket where the cover meets the case. The part shows up in the parts book under the CHAINCASE AND CHAINS figure, and the older-style number for this same seal is E7565.

Seals like this one don't owe you a long service life once they've been sitting in a case for years, so if you're pulling the sprocket cover for any other reason, it's worth checking the condition of the one that's in there now. A tired seal here means oil weeping past the cover and onto the primary chain, which isn't doing your clutch or chain any favors.
Our catalog record spans several years of appearances but doesn't pin this to one specific model or displacement family beyond what the figure title tells us. Confirm fitment against your own primary case before ordering if you're not sure.
