BSA Pivot — cam plate

The pivot pin for the gearbox cam plate in the gearchange mechanism, PN 68-3045.

PN · 68-3045

This is the pivot for the cam plate inside the gearbox inner cover, part number 68-3045. The cam plate is what the gearchange mechanism works against to move the selector forks, and this pivot is what lets that plate rotate as you shift gears. It shows up in the parts books under the inner timing cover and gearchange mechanism figures, so that's where you'll find it in the diagram when you're sorting out a shifting problem.

Our catalog record spans appearances from 1969 through 1972, but that's just the years it turns up across our listings, not a confirmed fitment for any one model. If you're chasing a worn or sloppy gearchange, check this pivot along with the cam plate itself and the selector mechanism around it — wear here can show up as vague or inconsistent shifting.

If you've got the part number from your own parts book and it doesn't match what you see here, give us a call before you order so we can confirm we're talking about the same piece.
