BSA PLUNGER,A65 CAMPLATE
Camplate plunger for the BSA A65 gearchange mechanism, part 68-0098.
This is the camplate plunger for the BSA A65, part number 68-0098 (also seen as 68-98 or M68-0098). It lives inside the inner timing cover area, right in with the gearchange mechanism, where it works against the camplate to hold each gear selection in place as you shift.

The catalog shows this part in the gearchange mechanism figures for the A65 across appearances from 1969 into 1972. If your engine has a plunger that's worn flat on the end or a detent spring that's lost its snap, that's usually the gearchange starting to feel sloppy or hard to find neutral, and this plunger is one of the parts to check.
This is a BSA A65 part, not a Triumph part, despite showing up in some Triumph-adjacent parts records. If you're not certain your gearbox internals match the A65 spec, hang onto the old plunger and compare before you order.
