Operating quadrant (complete w/pin)
Gearbox operating quadrant with pin, for the 5-speed inner cover and selector mechanism.
This is the operating quadrant for the 5-speed gearbox, sold complete with its pin. It lives inside the gearbox inner cover, on the selector mechanism, and it's the part that translates movement from the gear lever into rotation of the selector cam. Without a sound quadrant, gear changes get sloppy or stop happening cleanly at all.

The catalog shows this one appearing for 1979 model-year gearboxes, and it's the later-style quadrant used with 5-speed inner covers. It carries forward from an earlier factory number, 57-7019, so if your parts book lists the older number, this is the current version of that same piece.
If you're rebuilding a gearbox inner cover and the selectors are already apart, it's worth inspecting the quadrant's engagement points and the pin fit before you button everything back up. Give us a call if you're not sure which quadrant your inner cover takes.
