Shock absorber spider .

Clutch shock absorber spider from the primary chaincase, catalog part 57-2538 (formerly T2538).

PN · 57-2538

This is the shock absorber spider from the clutch assembly, listed in the parts books under 57-2538 (the older T2538 stamping is the same part). It shows up in the CLUTCH — PRIMARY COVER figures, so it lives inside the primary chaincase where the clutch does its work.

The spider is the part that carries the clutch's shock-absorbing springs, smoothing out the snatch that comes through the drivetrain when power goes on and off. It's a mechanical piece, not something that wears out fast, but it's worth a look whenever you've got the primary cover off and the clutch apart.

Our catalog record on this one covers appearances from 1971 to 1972. If you're not sure it matches what's currently in your clutch, bring it by or call ahead and we'll sort out fitment before you buy.
