SPRING PRESSURE VALVE

The pressure spring for the oil relief valve in the Triumph twin's oil pump assembly.

PN · 70-6062

70-6062 is the pressure spring for the oil relief valve on Triumph twins, sitting in the oil pump and release valve assembly at the bottom of the engine. This is the spring that pushes against the relief valve ball or plunger, holding it closed until oil pressure builds enough to open it and bleed excess pressure back into the system. It's a small part but an important one for keeping oil pressure in the right range through the engine.

The part shows up across the oil pump, release valve, and crankcase figures in the parts books, and it carries the earlier E6062 number for shops working from an older catalog. If you're rebuilding an oil pump or relief valve assembly this is a spring worth replacing rather than reusing, since a tired or collapsed spring won't hold the valve closed properly.

Call the shop if you're not sure which relief valve assembly you've got before ordering, since the catalog lists this spring across several different figure variations over the years.
