OIL RELIEF CAP
Oil relief cap that covers the pressure release valve on the oil pump assembly.
The 70-2304 is the oil relief cap that sits over the pressure release valve on the oil pump assembly. It shows up in the parts books alongside the oil pump, release valve, inlet manifold, and tappet components, which puts it right in the oil circuit at the bottom of the engine. If your parts book lists this one under the older E2304 number, that's the same physical cap.

The cap threads over the relief valve body and closes off the assembly, keeping the spring-loaded valve contained so it can do its job of bleeding off excess oil pressure. It's a small part but not one you want missing or damaged, since it's part of what keeps the pressure release circuit sealed.
Our catalog data on this one spans engine builds from the mid-to-late 1960s. If you're not sure whether the cap on your bike matches this number, bring it by or give us a call before you order and we'll help sort it out.
