Norton Oil Pressure Relief Spring
Oil pressure relief spring for the timing-cover-mounted relief valve assembly on the oil pump.
NMT2061 is the oil pressure relief spring, part of the oil pressure relief valve assembly that lives with the timing cover and oil pump on the engine's bottom end. This spring sits behind the relief valve piston or ball and sets the point at which excess oil pressure bleeds off rather than building up unchecked in the system.

It shows up in the parts book alongside the contact breaker, timing cover, and oil pump figures, which is where you'd expect to find it since that's where the relief valve assembly is housed. Our catalog records place it across engines cataloged from 1971 to 1973, but we don't have more detail tying it to one specific model, so check your parts book or give us a call to confirm before you order.
If you're rebuilding the oil pump or servicing the timing cover on an engine from this era, this is a small but important spring to inspect - a weak or broken relief spring can throw off oil pressure regulation. Worth having a spare on hand if you're already in there.
