R.H.FORK SLIDER(97-4579)
Right-hand fork slider (lower leg), part 97-7089, the lower fork casting that carries the front wheel spindle and front brake mount on the right side.
This is the right-hand fork slider (lower leg), 97-7089, sometimes cross-referenced under the earlier 97-4579 number. It's the part that holds the front wheel spindle on the right side of the bike and slides up and down over the fork stanchion, doing the actual damping work along with the fork oil and internals. It carries the mount for the front brake on disc-equipped machines.

Our catalog record on this one is thin, and appearance data doesn't give us a firm model-year range to quote you, so we'd rather not guess at exact fitment here. If you're matching an existing slider or working from a parts book listing, bring the number down or give us a call and we'll get you sorted with the correct side and configuration.
Fork sliders take a beating over the decades — pitted stanchion bores, worn bushings, and rust are common on originals, so a lot of owners replace both legs as a set even when only one side is obviously bad. Confirm what your bike is currently running for brake mounting before ordering, since fork legs differ depending on drum or disc setup.
