Nut, damper valve
Damper valve retaining nut for Triumph telescopic front forks, also known as H4012.
This is the damper valve nut off the bottom of a Triumph telescopic front fork, catalog number 97-4012, also carried under the older H4012 designation. It lives down in the fork leg where the damper valve assembly is retained, part of the works that controls oil flow and damping action as the fork slides through its stroke.

Our catalog record shows this part turning up across telescopic fork figures from 1971 through 1983, so it saw a long run through the oil-in-frame era and beyond. As with most small fork hardware, exact fitment can shift between conical-hub and disc-brake front ends, so check it against your own fork internals or give us a call before ordering.
It's a small, easy-to-overlook piece, but if it's worn, cross-threaded, or missing, the damper valve won't seat properly and the fork's damping suffers. Worth having on hand when you're in there doing fork seals or damper work anyway.
