O-RING FOR 71-82 FORKS
O-ring for the fork damper rod on 1971-on oil-in-frame Triumph and BSA forks.
This is the O-ring used on the fork damper rod for oil-in-frame Triumph and BSA forks, part number 97-4003, also listed under the older H4003 number. It shows up in the telescopic front fork section of the parts books for the OIF era.

The damper rod O-ring seals the fork's internal damping components, keeping oil where it belongs inside the leg rather than working its way past the rod. It's a small part but it's the kind of thing that hardens and leaks with age, and it's cheap insurance to have a couple on hand when you're already in the forks for a service.
This one covers the 1971-on OIF fork setup used across the BSA and Triumph range through the '70s. If you're rebuilding a fork leg, check your parts book against the figure for telescopic front forks to confirm this is the O-ring your damper assembly calls for.
