Plug, heatsink
End plug for the zener diode heat sink mounted to the front forks on certain Triumph twins.
This is the end plug that fits into the zener diode heat sink, the finned aluminum block that Triumph bolted up to draw heat away from the zener diode used in the charging system. The heat sink itself mounts to the front forks on the machines that use this setup, and this little plug closes off the end of it. Catalog listings tie it to the ignition coil, horn, rectifier, and zener diode wiring group, and it also turns up in fork-related figures since the heat sink lives there.

Older parts books list this same piece under C040 or H2275 if that's what's printed in your book — same part, different number on the page. It's a small, easy-to-lose item, the kind of thing that walks off during a fork strip-down or a wiring refresh and then you're hunting for it.
Our records show this part turning up across catalog entries from 1968 into 1974. If you're not sure your bike uses this style of zener diode heat sink mounted to the forks, give us a call and we'll help confirm before you order.
