Cover—L.H
Left-hand side panel cover from the air cleaner and side panel assembly, listed for 1972 model year machines.
This is the left-hand side panel cover, listed in the parts book under the air cleaners and side panels section. On these machines the side panels cover the area under the seat where the air filter and battery live, and this one is specifically the left-side piece. The old-book number for this part is F13850, which the factory carried forward as 83-3850.

Our records show this cover appearing on machines from the 1972 model year, and that's the only catalog spot we've got it filed under. If your bike is close to that year, this is worth checking against what's currently on there, but confirm fitment with us before you order since we don't have much more to go on beyond the one listing.
It's a straightforward trim piece rather than anything load-bearing or safety-critical, but a cracked or missing side cover leaves the underseat area exposed, so it's a common one to replace when the originals get brittle with age.
