Cup, petrol tank mounting
The rubber-cushioned cup that seats the petrol tank mounting bolt against the frame, used across many Triumph tank figures.
This is the mounting cup that sits under the petrol tank where it bolts to the frame, cushioning the tank against the mounting bolt and frame tab. It shows up across a long run of Triumph parts books, appearing in gas tank figures for both the 2.8 gallon and 4 gallon tanks as well as some front fork and handlebar cable figures where the tank mount hardware gets called out. The older factory number for this same part was 83-3814, later becoming 82-3814 in the catalog, so if you're working from an early parts book and see the 83- prefix, that's the same cup.

Functionally it's a small stamped or molded cup that spreads the load where the tank mounting bolt passes through the rubber, keeping the tank from working directly against a hard metal edge. Given how many different tank and fork figures it turns up in, it's clearly a standard piece used wherever this style of tank mount was fitted rather than something specific to one model.
It's inexpensive and easy to overlook until the tank starts rattling or the rubber underneath it has torn out from years of vibration. Worth checking when you've got the tank off anyway, since replacing a tired cup along with the mounting rubber is a lot easier than doing it twice.
