Inlet manifold—R.H.

Right-hand inlet manifold connecting the cylinder head to the carburetor, catalog PN 71-3338.

PN · 71-3338

This is the right-hand inlet manifold, part number 71-3338, the short cast tube that connects the cylinder head port to the carburetor on that side of the engine. It's the piece the intake charge passes through on its way from the carb into the head, and it's what the carburetor actually clamps onto, so any looseness or a bad seal here shows up as a lean mixture or an air leak that's hard to track down.

It shows up in the parts book under the MANIFOLD AND TAPPETS figure, and our catalog records span 1974 through 1978. It's specific to the right side of the engine — there's a separate left-hand manifold under its own number, so don't assume the two sides are interchangeable without checking your bike.

Worth inspecting the mounting flange and the stub where the carb slides on whenever you've got the carbs off, since a cracked or worn manifold is a common source of unexplained running problems on these twins.
