Clip for alternator lead grommet
A small retaining clip that holds the alternator lead grommet in place at the crankcase.
70-8147 is the small clip that secures the alternator lead grommet where the wiring passes through the crankcase. It's a minor piece but it does a real job — keeping the grommet seated so the alternator lead doesn't get chafed or pulled loose against the case as the engine vibrates.

This one shows up in the crankcase and gearbox-area figures in the parts books, listed alongside the shafts, selectors, and starting mechanism parts, which tells you it lives down in that lower engine casting area rather than up top with the electrics themselves. The catalog carries it under the legacy E8147 designation as well as the current 70-8147 number, so if your parts book from the early '70s lists E8147, that's the same clip.
It's a low-cost item to keep on hand if you're pulling the crankcase apart and find the original missing or broken — losing this clip means the grommet can work its way out of position over time, so it's worth replacing rather than leaving off.
