Balance pipe
A balance pipe connecting the two inlet manifolds on the engine top end, part number 70-6958.
The balance pipe, PN 70-6958, is part of the inlet manifold assembly on the top of the engine. It ties the two intake tracts together so both cylinders draw from a shared pressure point rather than pulling independently, which helps smooth out carburetion between the two carbs.

This one shows up in the catalogs under the inlet manifold figures across a run of years in the late '60s and into the early '70s, and it also carries the older E6958 number if you're working from an earlier parts book. It's a simple piece but it's part of what keeps both cylinders breathing evenly, so worth checking the fit and condition when you're going through the top end.
