Piston pin circlip, G wire — JCC/Hepolite pistons, Triumph 500 and 650, 11/16 in. (.687) wrist pin (OEM C type: 70-6869C)
G-wire circlip that retains the 11/16 in. wrist pin in JCC/Hepolite pistons on Triumph 500 and 650 engines.
This is the small G-wire circlip that holds the piston pin (wrist pin) in place at the small end of the connecting rod. It's a tiny part but it's the only thing keeping the wrist pin from working its way sideways into the cylinder wall, so it earns its keep. Our catalog record ties this one to Triumph 500 and 650 engines using JCC/Hepolite pistons with the 11/16 in. (.687) wrist pin, and it shows up across crankshaft and connecting rod, and cylinder head and barrel figures from the late 1960s through the mid '70s.

You'll also see this part numbered 18-89300C or E6869 in some parts books, and it carries forward from an older factory number, WE479, if that's what's printed in your book. The OEM version was marked with a C type stamp (70-6869C).
Any time you've got the piston off the rod and the wrist pin out, this is a part you replace rather than reuse. It's cheap insurance against a circlip working loose down the road — wait, no, just replace it, it's not worth taking a chance on.
