The flywheel is a heavy rotating mass keyed to the crank throw, providing rotational inertia to smooth out the power pulses of the engine and keep it turning evenly between firing strokes. As a left-side flywheel it's one half of the bolted-together crank assembly, paired with the crankpin and the right-hand flywheel to form the full crankshaft.
Our catalog record for this one only spans a couple of appearances covering 1963 to 1964, so if you're working outside that window, give the shop a call and we'll confirm this is the right flywheel for your crank assembly before you order.
