Float needle (99-0511)
Amal carburetor float needle that shuts off fuel flow once the float bowl reaches the correct level.
This is the Amal float needle, listed in our records as 622/068 (also cross-referenced as 99-0511). It's the small valve that rides inside the float chamber of your Amal carburetor, shutting off fuel flow once the float rises to the correct level and keeping the bowl from overfilling or flooding.

It shows up across a wide run of Amal carb figures in our catalog, from the Concentric-style carbs on T100 twins through to the carbs fitted on T120, TR6, T140V, and TR7RV machines, so this is a part that saw duty across a lot of different Amal carb bodies over the years. If your carb is flooding, running rich, or dribbling fuel out the overflow, a worn or stuck float needle is one of the first things to check.
Our records show this part number was later superseded by 622/197. If your parts book or an old invoice lists 622/068, that's the same physical component under the earlier number - worth knowing if you're trying to match up what's currently in your carb against a newer replacement.
