ADJUSTER LOCK NUT
Lock nut for a handlebar control lever cable adjuster, also numbered 07-181709 and D3586.
This is the lock nut that holds a control lever's cable adjuster where you set it. It shows up in the parts book under the handlebar and control lever figures, so it's doing its job at the lever end of a cable run rather than down at the other end of the run. Once you dial in your cable freeplay with the adjuster, this nut cinches down against it so the setting doesn't creep back out on you.

Our catalog record carries this under 60-3586, with 07-181709 and D3586 as other numbers for the same part, and it shows up across a long stretch of catalog years from the early '70s into the early '80s. Triumph later renumbered it to 18/838, so if your parts book or an old invoice shows that number, it's the same nut.
It's a small, inexpensive item, but it's worth keeping a spare on hand since it's easy to lose track of when you're pulling levers apart for cable work. Call the shop if you want us to confirm exactly which lever assembly on your bike takes this one.
