Front brake lever (alloy)

Alloy front brake lever for the handlebar control assembly, factory renumbered from 60-2628.

PN · 60-3583
Supersedes 60-2628 — earlier factory number for this part.

This is the front brake lever for the handlebar control assembly, made of alloy rather than the earlier steel-and-chrome type. It bolts onto the brake lever perch on the handlebar and pulls the cable that operates the front brake at the drum. The catalog shows it appearing in a single year of records, under the HANDLEBAR AND CONTROL LEVERS listing, and it carries the older factory number 60-2628 before it was renumbered to 60-3583.

If you're working from an older parts book and see 60-2628 listed for your bike, that's this same lever under its earlier number. It's also known under the D3583 form in some references.

Worth checking the lever perch and pivot pin condition when you swap this in, since fit at the pivot point matters more than most people expect on these control assemblies. Call the shop if you're not sure which lever your bike originally carried.
