CLUTCH THRUST WASHER - EARLY - STEEL/BRONZE - Replaces 68-3278
Steel/bronze clutch thrust washer for early unit-construction Triumph twins, fits between the clutch hub and sprocket basket.
This is the clutch thrust washer for early unit-construction Triumph twins, sitting inside the clutch assembly where it takes up the space between the splined hub and the clutch sprocket basket. It's made of steel with a bronze face, and its job is to give that junction a wear surface so the hub and basket aren't riding directly against each other under clutch load.

The part number in your parts book may show up as T1735 if you're working from an older edition — same physical washer, just the legacy prefix form. The catalog notes it replaces an earlier part, 68-3278, so if your bike's book lists that older number for the same position, this is the current equivalent.
These washers see real friction and load over time, and the inner diameter is the spot to check for wear or an out-of-round bore when you have the clutch apart. If you're rebuilding a clutch on an early unit twin, it's worth pulling this one and having a look rather than assuming it's fine.
