CLUTCH CHAINWHEEL TRI 500/650 UK MADE
UK-made clutch chainwheel/sprocket basket for Triumph 500 and 650 unit twins, part 57-1570.
This is the clutch chainwheel for Triumph 500 and 650 unit-construction twins, 57-1570, also found under the older T1570 designation. It's the sprocket-and-basket assembly that rides on the gearbox mainshaft and carries the primary chain's drive into the clutch itself, holding the friction plates that let the engine and transmission engage and disengage. It's made in the UK, and the catalog record shows it turning up across clutch figures from 1964 through 1974.

This is the part everything else in the clutch stack bolts to and rides against, so wear here shows up as clutch drag, slip, or a chain that won't stay tight no matter how often you adjust it. If you're rebuilding a primary side or chasing a chronic clutch complaint, it's worth pulling this basket and giving it a real look rather than just swapping plates and hoping.
We carry it as a stand-alone chainwheel. If you're not sure whether your basket is original UK-made stock or a later replacement, bring it in or give us a call before you order so we can help you match it up.
