This is a pilot jet for the Amal Monobloc carburetor, size 20. The pilot jet controls fuel delivery at idle and just off idle, before the main jet takes over, so it has a direct effect on how clean your engine idles and how it responds when you first crack the throttle open.

Monobloc carbs are jet-sensitive, and pilot jets are cheap enough and small enough that it pays to have a few sizes on hand when you're tuning one. If your idle is hunting or the bike stumbles just off closed throttle, the pilot jet is one of the first things to check.
