Brake anchor plate

Front wheel brake anchor plate for the drum brake assembly, catalog number 37-3704.

PN · 37-3704

This is the brake anchor plate off the front wheel, part number 37-3704 (also seen in older records as W3704). It's the fixed plate that the front brake shoes pivot and anchor against inside the drum, taking the reaction force when the brake is applied so the backing plate doesn't twist in the fork.

Our catalog record for this one only shows a single appearance, tied to 1971. That's not much to go on for fitment beyond that one year, so if you're matching this to a specific front hub or fork leg, it's worth double-checking against what's actually on the bike before you order.

If you're rebuilding a front drum brake assembly, this plate usually gets inspected alongside the shoes, pivot pin, and operating cam for wear at the pivot points. Let us know what you're working on and we can help confirm it's the right one.
