Lighting switch, type 88SA
Lucas 88SA rotary lighting switch, PN 34289, mounted in the headlamp nacelle to control the lighting circuit.
This is the Lucas 88SA lighting switch, PN 34289, the rotary switch mounted in the headlamp nacelle that handles the lighting circuit — off, park, and headlight positions. It shows up across a run of nacelle and headlamp/wiring-harness figures in the parts books, so it's a common fitment across a number of Triumph twins built through the mid-60s into 1967 based on our catalog records.

The factory later renumbered this part to 34289L, so if you're working from an older parts book and see 34289, or a newer one and see 34289L, they're the same physical switch. Worth checking the nacelle wiring and the matching ignition switch (a separate part) while you're in there, since these switches see a lot of years of moisture and vibration in that spot.
If you're not sure which switch position your bike takes or how it's wired into the harness, give us a call before you order — the nacelle wiring varies enough across model years that it pays to confirm.
