Norton Oil Pressure Relief Piston
The piston from the engine's oil pressure relief valve assembly, seated by a spring to bleed off excess oil pressure.
NMT2054 is the piston out of the oil pressure relief valve assembly, the part that actually rides inside the valve body and gets pushed against its seat by the spring to bleed off excess oil pressure once the pump is putting out more than the engine needs. It lives down in the bottom end, grouped in the parts book right alongside the contact breaker, timing cover, and oil pump.

If you're rebuilding the relief valve or chasing an oil pressure problem, this piston and its seat are usually the first things worth pulling and inspecting for wear or scoring, since a worn piston won't seal consistently and can either bleed off too much pressure or not enough.
