FOOT REST RUBBER,SCRIPT

Triumph script-logo footrest rubber, NF704, fits over the footrest peg on frame and engine fitting figures.

PN · NF704
Superseded by 82-9279.

NF704 is a footrest rubber with the Triumph script logo molded into the tread, the kind fitted to footrests on the frame and engine fitting figures across a run of catalog years. The alias 1429-005 is the same physical part under a different number, and it later got replaced in Triumph's system by the newer part 82-9279.

These slide onto the footrest peg and give the rider's boot something to grip besides bare metal, plus they take the buzz out of a running engine so your foot isn't sitting right on a vibrating peg all day. Being a rubber part, it's one of those things that goes hard and cracks with age even sitting in a bin, so if the one on the bike is torn up or the script has worn smooth, it's worth just swapping in a new one rather than fighting with what's there.

Our catalog record shows this part turning up across a good number of appearances in the frame and footrest figures, spanning 1960 to 1970 in the paperwork. If you want to be sure it's the right rubber for your particular footrest peg, bring in the old one or give us a call before you order.
