Throttle needle
Amal carburetor throttle needle, part 99-1036 / 622/124, works with the slide and needle jet to meter fuel as the throttle opens.
This is the throttle needle out of an Amal carburetor, catalog number 99-1036 (also listed as 622/124). It's the part that slides inside the carb's needle jet and controls how much fuel gets pulled through as you roll the throttle open, working together with the throttle slide and jet to shape the fuel curve across the rev range.

Our catalog shows it turning up in the T140V carburetor listing and in the throttle linkage figure for Amal carburetors, so it's tied to that carb family and to the mechanical side of throttle operation rather than the float bowl or mixing chamber. Beyond that, we don't have more detail on file for this one.
If you're chasing a flat spot or a rich/lean feel partway through the throttle opening, the needle is one of the usual suspects along with the slide and needle jet. Worth checking for wear where it rides in the jet before you go chasing other causes.
