Needle jet, size ·106"

Amal carburetor needle jet, .106 inch size, meters fuel through the mid and upper throttle range.

PN · 19-3136 / 622/122

This is the needle jet out of an Amal carburetor, listed at .106 inch. The needle jet sits inside the carb body and works with the taper needle to meter fuel through the mid-range and top-end of the throttle opening, once you're past the pilot circuit and into the main flow. It's a wear item — the bore opens up over years of use and running fuel through it, and once it's worn the mixture goes rich no matter how you set the rest of the carb.

Our catalog shows this one across a run of Amal carburetor figures from 1970 to 1973, including the throttle linkage and air cleaner plates, so it's a piece that shows up consistently in that carb family during those years. The old-style part number 622/122 and the current 19-3136 are the same physical jet, just from different eras of Amal's numbering.

If you're chasing a flat spot or a rich-running carb and the rest of your tuning checks out, the needle jet is one of the first things worth pulling and inspecting for wear before you start second-guessing jetting or float height.
