Telescopic gaiter .
Rubber fork gaiter for the telescopic front fork, also listed under the older H1645 part number.
This is the fork gaiter for the telescopic front fork, the rubber cover that fits over the top of each fork leg to keep dirt, grit, and water off the sliding stanchion and seal area. It shows up in the parts books under the older H1645 designation as well as the current 97-1645 number, same part either way.

On the bikes it fits, the gaiter mounts on the front forks and appears in the fork figures alongside the other telescopic fork hardware. Catalog listings for this one span the mid-to-late 1960s. Fork gaiters take a beating from road grime and UV over the years, so it's a common item to find cracked, split, or missing entirely on an older bike that hasn't been gone over.
If you're replacing these, it's worth checking both legs and doing them as a pair since one worn gaiter usually means the other isn't far behind. Check your fork clamp style before ordering to make sure the fitment lines up.
