FORK FELT SEAL
A felt seal for the front fork assembly, also known as a fork sponge washer, part number 97-0420.
This is a fork felt seal, sometimes called a fork sponge washer in older catalog listings, part number 97-0420, with the alternate reference G139N showing up in some parts books for the same piece. It's a simple felt or sponge ring that sits down in the fork assembly to help keep road grit and moisture off the sliding surfaces and hold a bit of oil where it needs to stay.

Our records on this one are thin, just the basic listing without a lot of extra catalog detail attached to it. Felt seals like this are cheap wear items in the fork lowers of the older Triumph twins, and they tend to get overlooked until someone's doing a full fork strip and notices the old one's hardened up or gone missing altogether.
