Oil seal
Triumph oil seal (97-1168 / H1168) used at the front fork, gearbox shaft, and crankshaft locations on the older machines.
This is a Triumph oil seal, catalog number 97-1168, also listed under the older H1168 designation. It's a part that shows up in more than one place on the older machines, appearing in catalog records for gearbox shafts and gears, crankshaft and connecting rod assemblies, and both the 6T/T110 and TR6/T120 telescopic front fork figures. That spread just means Triumph used the same seal in a few different jobs rather than making a unique one for each.

Wherever it's fitted, the job is the same: keep oil where it belongs and keep dirt and moisture out. In the fork it rides down in the leg to hold damping oil in and keep the slider clean; in the gearbox or crankcase locations it's doing the same basic work at a rotating shaft.
Our catalog record ties this one to appearances from 1960 through 1964, but with three separate figure locations listed, it's worth double-checking which spot on your machine you're replacing before you order, and confirming quantity needed for the job at hand.
